About the Author

483560_4377303429782_1855616405_nI am a 25-year-old English teacher at a small private school in eastern KY. I have been an avid reader for as long as I can remember which is one reason why I teach. I hope to create other avid readers.

I have a relationship with God/Jesus/Holy Spirit.  As I tell students who question why we talk about God so much in class, “it really is all about God”.

Don’t ask me what my favorite book is, but I do enjoy reading. I’m mostly in the physical book camp, but lately I’ve been diving into e-books more.

Tea drives me throughout the day. I start the morning with a cup of English breakfast or img_20180116_1701151739414817.jpgEarl Gray. Usually sometime during the day, I’ll re-steep that bag for a second go-around. Depending on the day, I might even throw in a cup or two of herbal tea when I get home from school.

Mostly I am a work in progress.  Thankfully, God is not done molding me and making me into what he wants me to be.  It’s a process.

  1. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and heart-felt moments – even the tough ones. Praying for you. There’s not doubt that God is working IN you and around you. Enjoy reading your blog – keep writing!

1 Corinthians 1:3 “May God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ give you grace and peace, 4 I always thank my God for you and for the gracious gifts He has given you,now that you belong to Christ Jesus. 7 Now you have every spiritual gift you need as you eagerly wait for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. 8 He will keep you strong to the end… 9 God will do this, for He is faithful to do what He says, and He has invited you into partnership with His Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord. 24 …Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 This foolish plan of God is wiser than the wisest of human plans, and God’s weakness is stronger than the greatest of human strength. 2:9 …”No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God prepared for those who love Him.” (NLT)

Below are a few lines from the book, “OVERWHELMED” by Perry Noble. As you read, may you
be reminded of the awesome presence and character of your loving and kind Heavenly Father.
    – change begins with a decision: to be overwhelmed or to overcome”
    – we need to stop identifying ourselves by our slavery and start identifying ourselves with our Savior
    – every person we lock eyes with (including the person we saw in the mirror this morning) needs grace
    – the Bible calls those who will not work lazy, but it calls those who will not rest disobedient
    – control is the greatest illusion in the universe
    – it may be time to stop praying, “God, get me out of this” and begin praying, “Jesus, let me see You”
    – all the things that are over our heads are under His feet
    – followers of Jesus should be known not just by what we run from but also what we run to
    – forgiveness is like putting a key in a prison door to release someone else, only to discover that the person you are releasing is yourself
    – God has never brought anyone to a situation that was greater than His love for them
    – God is the only One in the universe Who can use our pain for our progress
    – Don’t give up on the God Who has never given up on you!

Psalm 130:1 “From the depths of despair O LORD, I call for Your help. 2 Hear my cry, O Lord. Pay attention to my prayer. 3 LORD, if You kept a record of our sins, who, O Lord, could ever survive? 4 But You offer forgiveness, that we might learn to fear You. 5 I am counting on the LORD; yes, I am counting on Him. I have put my hope in His word.” (NLT).

Christian Love in our Lord Jesus Christ. Your Brother in Him, always. Bro. Marty. Psalm 55:22.
